Pictures Finally

To the Right: Brother Hawlett

To the Left: Alma Dehoyas, Chris and Nathan Willson

I finally got some pictures to display. We attended the church Christmas party last weekend. We had food and games, was a blast. Here are some pics of Santa and more importantly a game we played. It was called Reindeer Antlers. You had 8 balloons and one pair of pantyhose. You had to blow up the balloons (4 on each side) to make reindeer antlers and then sing the first verse of Jingle Bells. Young and old all had fun.

December

As I sit here and reflect, my month has been rather unexciting. I finished up my finals and now relaxing by cleaning house to get ready for my mother on Saturday. Wait...I said relaxing right? Oh what was I thinking. Jack will be off work for a whole 2 weeks!! Yipee!! Now maybe the holiday spirit will be here. I do have photos from recent activities, I'll upload those w/explanations sometime this week.

A month already

I only have a moment before class. I didn't realize it had been a month since I had posted anything, sorry. I can't believe the madness that is happening in our nation over Prop 8 from California. Here in Texas, when we voted on rights of accepting gay marriage or not ... it was a huge turnout for not being accepted. Of course, I do live in the bible belt. There were no rallies, no protestors...it just went away. Until now.
The last days are among us. We shall stand tall and brave. I do hope all are prepared with every needful thing. Let us unite in God's Army.

Mid October

I can't believe it's already mid october! We have been swamped at least that it seems that way. I had a request for more pics but not for this blog, I'll take some this weekend and post'em. Our little baby, Lucy (our puppy) had to have her anal glands removed yesterday. I know it sounds so bad...but she was so misreable going every other or every week to get it cleaned out. This will save her from that pain and embarressment. She is a lady and doesn't like anything touching her backend. :) We have a couple of weeks of fun until the stitches come out but then she will be all good. Don't feel too bad for her as she now gets spoiled more than ever and canned food. Tipsy, kittycat, is jealous but easy going and takes his naps w/out Lucy bothering her. My semester is almost over and I am currently planning for the next semester in Spring. Jack hurt his back at work the other night but got some medicine for it and tells me that he is a survivor! We are a very happy and prepared couple ...

State Fair

We took off on Friday to go to our 1st destination in Dallas/Ft. Worth . . . the gun shop. In which we looked at everything we could until Jack decided on an AK47 w/2 banana clips and something else. We also looked at a tazer for me, in case I'm ever in danger. But I decided to hold off on that for a while as we live in a small town currently and it's not needed. I guess the world must be coming to an end soon as Jack is getting prepared. We have done well in getting our food storage together and protection. But we also need some MRE's for on the go meals. I forgot my camera so no photos, sorry. We then headed to "On The Border" for mexican food. Is so yummy. I got Steak Fajita Quesadillas and Jack got chicken burrito (huge one). After that we retired to our hotel in downtown Ft Worth (also known as the hood). Kinda of scarey but we had a goodnight's sleep. The next morning we put IHOP in for breakfast in our Garmin and ended up at this Family Pancake place. We had a schedule so we went on in. Only to find we were the only white people in there and the way our waitress treated us; I don't think we were welcome. She didn't say 3 words to us and we by far had to wait forever for our food and then we got our drinks. I've never been in a situation where I was the one that was being ignored by prejudice people. It's not a nice experience. We left shortly after eating.
We then headed for the fair. You could see the large ferris wheel from afar. Thank heavens I didn't have to ride it. We looked at everything: shops that included jewerly, tools, clothes, massagers, fountains, saunas, hot tubs, greenhouses, cooking centers, and so much more. There were a couple of different areas for cars from all the different companies. There was this massive truck by Ford - Ranch King /Super Duty. We stood next to it and seriously the hood was right at my head. There were rides too but cost too much to ride at least for me that day. We ate a turkey leg as they are big enough to share and freshly squeezed lemonade. We wanted many things but decided on just a few. Jack got these wrenches that are amazing - they latch onto the pipe or whatever you have like a hand does, so no gripping problems. I got nail polish but it's not your normal nail polish, it has like a pen on one end to make flowers and other designs on nails and then at the other end a brush for painting the whole nail. We both wanted this set of pans (american made) that nothing sticks to and work better than the teflon ones do. I could feel my cheeks getting burnt so we left.
We ended our night by eating at Olive Garden. Jack got the tour of Italy and I got Asiago Garlic Alfredo Penne pasta. The dessert was out of this world, I highly recommend it - Pumpkin Cheesecake w/ginger crust crumbles. Just the right amount of both. We then retired to Super 8 in Burleson and quickly fell asleep. We awoke and ate breakfast at Dennys. The service was wonderful as well as the food. It was nice to be somewhere were you are treated well. This morning we picked up his gun and came home. Well that's our weekend. We spent time together and enjoyed our day at the Fair!!

Cowboy's Night

I thought I would share what our night looks like when the cowboys are playing.

Here is Jack in his very own cowboy jersey made with his name on it and Lucy in her Romo shirt. They are so cute.

Tipsy is like me as he waits outside while the game is on. ha!

Catch-up

I can't belive it's September already. The years are just flying by. This December Jack and I will be married for 4 yrs. It does't seem that long. This summer passed by all too quickly. Jack had to work alot of over time because the company had so many orders. In July we went to San Antonio for vacation. We hung out at our condo by the lake. We went tubing down the river and went to Sea World the first 2 days we were there. Both of those were alot of fun. My mom had come down from Japan for the summer and enjoyed those 2 days with us too. We went jetskiing as well. Then unfortunately I got sick which put me down for the rest of the week. Jack and Lucy had alot of fun going out.
After San Antonio, we've gone to Dallas and Abilene for fun. Jack and I have alot of fun just hangin' out at the house together with our pets Lucy (beagle) and Tipsy (cat).
Now that's it's Sept. That puts me back in school to become an Elementary School Teacher and that means loads of homework. Jack's hours at work are not as intense so I do get to see him a bit more often. In this small town nothing really happens...each day only has small differences but they are with the love of my life!
Today we are getting a new AC Unit installed. Hopefully it will be more effeceint than the last one. That's it! One of few words at this moment.
